Hunger Pangs

Hunger pangs biting deeper and deeper,
So merciless and without compassion.
In a twinkle you’ve taken over my entire body,

Ruling with such a gruesome intensity;

Had I known how desperate you are?
I would have shielded myself,
From your deadly grip,
A grip as humiliating as it is heart rending;

My strength is drained and my energy sapped,
You swallowed my legs quickly like quick sand,
Like a lion pounces on an unsuspecting prey.
You are very mean and therefore, deserve no pity;

My empty pockets led me into your trap,
But, I will fight you with the last drop of my blood,
And I will destroy you with every resource I can muster,
To ensure that my children are FOREVER liberated from you
