Wrecked By Love

I thought you knew,
I bared my heart to you didn’t I?
From the first time I saw you at that train station,

I have worshiped and adored you;

The evening has descended so heavily on my soul,
Like a huge blanket covering the skies,
Rain drops so thick and fluid,
The heavens crying me a river;

Behind me was your freezing body,
So cold it vibrated like a running engine,
I should have left you alone,
If only I knew that sleeping dogs should be left to lie;

I didn’t know you were in a hurry to leave my life,
Just like a flash of light in the dark,
A flower blooming in the morning and gone by dusk,
Such was my lot;

If only you had stayed just for a longer,
Just another one moment,
But no! Not you, your time was up,
And you left without saying goodbye;

How could an angel break my heart?
A heart so tender and loving,
My life was so incomplete, until you came,
But in a moment you changed everything;

I was a happy Lass,
Friends couldn’t believe my luck, or should I call it my star,
One last look at my beautiful wedding dress,
And I knew tomorrow would be mine;

I could see beautiful kids playing in the yard,
Ours was a happy home; a place of shelter and rest.
I was fantasizing about the future and my mind floated freely,
And suddenly the phone rang interrupting my sweet thoughts;

Had I known, I would’ve held on to those thoughts a little longer,
Oh! How that phone call shattered my life,
How could you leave me on the eve of our wedding?
What becomes of our wedding and our plans for honeymoon?

I wonder what to tell our unborn daughter,
You’ve got to tell her yourself,
Why did you visit us at such a wrong time, oh death!
I’m losing my mind;

Who will heal this broken heart?
Who will hear me when I cry?
Who will rescue my capsizing boat?
…Would you do that for me please?

O'...a heart lost and won
fragile and gentle you are.

I weep for this punctures of hopelessness
that sprung on bag of your future.

Remember...
tears only soothes heat of the cheek and takes you nowhere.

You have won love of the sky
and its tears mingled with yours will wash away your pain
and fertilise the womb of your new love...

A man's heart is always strong
Will yours not be?
